M Apartments in Korat

It says something very positive about an apartment building if many of the people living are regular visitors, as is the case with M Apartments, with some residents coming back for several years running.

It is easy to see why M is so popular for this 5 storey complex neatly proves the fact that in Thailand it can often make more sense to stay in an “apartment” than a hotel, both for economic reasons and for added comfort.

For starters, M has the advantage of being centrally located and yet peaceful. It is situated well back from a small side street but is still only a minute away from one of Korat’s key junctions, making it easy to reach the best shopping, bazaars, wats and attractions, including the lovely Bung Ta Lua lake (where M runs a major Korat resort called Pang Runjee – see separate Koratmap report for details).

At the same time M provides ample parking with good security, some lovely gardens, and a major open air seating area (above) – which one regular refers to as his “living room”.

There are a wide variety of rooms available, all with balconies (some very large) on both the north and south sides of the building, as well as penthouse accommodation on the 6th floor.

All the rooms are furnished with a large double bed or twin beds, air conditioning, a mini-bar, wifi internet, TV with satellite Cable Channels, hot water, direct IDD phone, and a safe key card system.   

There is also a small shop with a multitude of useful items, a chamber maid and laundry service backed up by friendly, English-speaking staff.?

Rates start from 400 Baht per night or 4,000 Baht monthly.

This hotel is located just beside Sports and Cocktails, on Suepsiri road. They have a popular banquet room on the last floor gathering weddings and special occasions.

They have 79 guests room and suites to fulfill your needs. You will pay probably around 650 Baht for a room with shower and 750 Baht room with bathtub.

This place is located near Teenee Korat, Bule Saloon or Robert's restaurant. They opened around 2008 and it's a perfect place to get a nice room for 600 baht to 900 baht. The location is quite nice, in the old town.

Their website has many pictures should you be interested to have a look. It's not in English but you will easily understand. More pictures than words...

This hotel is very well located, just off Jomsurangyart Rd, not far from the traffic-light crossing with Bua Rong Rd, that is in the heart of town, at a walking distance from Klang Plaza 2, from Ginza, from Maegimheng market and from the Ya Mo monument. It is accessible also from Pho Klang Rd through the Dtrok Dtee Lehk lane, entering next to the Chinese style temple Sanjao Maetaptim.

The basic rate for a double room, twin or single bed, is 399 Baht per night (July 2009), making it a very interesting budget "grand hotel", as they call themselves.
