Suan Thung Uncle (Loong) Pee

Suan Thung Loong Pee (Uncle Pee's Garden) is a resort located in Kham Talay Soh (Kam Thale So), about 15 kilometers west of Korat. The resort is situated on over 100 rai of land which includes beautiful lotus ponds and rice fields. There are two restaurants (one air con and the other open-air), several cottages, and an OTOP shop. The restaurant has an extensive Thai menu. Off-menu ordering (including Western food) is available. The open air restaurant is chock full of antiques and other objects of interest. Although the design is a bit eclectic, one's eyes never lack for something interesting to observe. The food is excellent. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast until late.

Restaurant

Update by admin: The restaurant opened at the beginning of 2009. Uncle Pee used to be a 'landscape architect' and that explains all the beautiful gardens of this place. You can eat at the entrance, in any of the restaurants (air con is the OTOP center) or even beside a lake.

There are Karts and a small bus making a visit in the resort. You pay 20 baht and that money will be used by uncle Pee to build a museum and a library. You might meet uncle Pee himself: he designed all this resort. There are about 10 rooms available to sleep over there. It's between 1,400 baht and 1,900 baht per night.  For this price, you will get a beautiful room, in a traditional Thai wooden house. They are equipped with air conditioning, wifi internet and cable on the television.

The place is open from 10am to 10pm. There is a also a shop, called OTOP center, selling different handicraft and art.

I have to disagree some of the previous comments. I went today, Sunday, maybe 4pm.
We didn't have any problem with the food, neither the staff. It was quite nice.

The Food was VERY good, with reasonable prices, and this place has some style. I also like the stuff around, and was walking... like most clients do. I just uploaded pictures that we took but they don't describe well the place. I added some text to the article of Mike Newman.

I recommend it, especially with some visitors from abroad. The place has nice gardens, nice Thai architecture and pieces of art. If you meet uncle Pee, talk with him. His wife speaks English a little...

Have been there twice lately.
Fish(240 baht) was too salty. Our remark was hardly noticed.
I like the unbelievable lots of "stuff" around.
People walking around to have a look, disturb the lunch a little bit.
I surely will come back.
