Papaya

GOOGLE EARTH PLACEMARK

Papaya is a new place, open late in 2008, beside Bali restaurant. We can also see it's close to Big Chili or in front of Suranaree Witthaya school. The place is beautiful, very relax. Food is cheap and good value for the price. It's a kind of pub-restaurant, with a large terrace, nice plants and fountains, even sofas outside. Also a band playing.

Menu is one page, 60-80 baht for mostly all dishes.

A band plays outside. They recently had the band that was playing at Nam Jam: one of the best in Korat.

They advertised an grand opening on 26 December, with a singer called Ben Chalawit? or Chalatit? Something like that. It is now (March 2009) a very popular place.

We had Pe nang Kung (shrimps with a kurry sauce) that was very good for 80 baht. Also Pla ra Prik (fish with spicy sauce) for 80 baht too, the full fish, which is cheap because the fish alone is probably 40-50 baht!

The food was good and the pricing was reasonable. The staff was friendly and attentive and they had a large menu. Unfortunately for me it was all in Thai which I am not able to read yet. We were told they have live music every night at 10.
