Diva, Korat.

Diva opened in March 2010 just in front of Klang Plaza 2. It replaces a club that was called the Fun Factory.

The place is a big bar with live band and a DJ. They play techno, dance and hip hop. Some large TV screens shows sports and the place closes very late (2:30 am at the moment)

The band has many singers, males and females.

This picture is taken from a balcony.

Doors of the bathrooms.

The place attracts a lot of people, from 20 to 40 yo, especially around 1pm. Live music and DJ alternates about every 45 minutes.

The laser and lights are really beautiful but this is not the club to go if you don't like loud music. The sound of the videos doesn't represent the reality.

Krungthep Rasima bar in Korat

The entrance

Krungtep Rasima is a popular bar in Korat. They have live bands and do some shows. It's located right in front up "update" or "after". It location B on this map. It used to be called RCA few years ago

They open around 9pm but it starts to be full more or less around 11pm. A live band plays Thai songs, rock and folk. They are quite good. You might see a ladyboy making a show and jokes in Thai. Similar to what was " target="_blank">Speed 2, few years ago.

They also serve food. Some example of their menu and prices are below:

One of their rock singers.

The last show around 1am was very nice. Thai traditional dancing, with costumes. And that was on a Wednesday. This place is huge (same as Da Wang Deang, more or less) and it was not completely full, but people were enjoying the music and dancing everywhere.

Ampawa bar Korat

Ampawa is a new place very popular for young people (18-25). It's located near Klang Plaza, exactly where was Korat-Texas before.

That is the board you might see. On our GOOGLE MAP, it's on Jomsurang Road, near Chao Phraya Hotel.

It has live music and the band is very good. The place can be crowded early for a bar in Korat, meaning even at 10pm, it can be full. They serve food and drinks and prices are cheap, adapted to the young Thais going there. No cover fee.

Music is normally 'Indie' or 'Rock'.

This picture is not very good but there are even people on the sidewalk!

The place is so crowded that they put tables there, with chairs...

OSAKA

GOOGLE EARTH PLACEMARK

The oldest and cheapest place in town. Also called the "Japanese embassy". We read somewhere that prices are around 900 baht. We were told this place opened bad in the days were the Americans has a base in Nakhon Ratchasima during the VietNam war.

It's located near the pizza shop.

Turn on , pub in Korat.

This is a new place that officially opened on September 9, 2009. It's called "TURN ON" and it's almost opposite Nam Jam, on Suep Siri road, same side as Sports and Cocktails. If you know where is the office of TN, it's exactly in front, or in front of the Karaoke PEAK.

It's not a jazz bar (as seen on a forum) but they have 4 different bands playing. The first band was the same as the last band at Dok Mai Cafe. One band got a guy on a saxophone, playing western and Thai songs. You can sit outside and inside....it's owned by 4 people and they are all very nice.

The food is really good, Leo beer 65 baht, heneiken 95, 100pipers 399. We had an excellent fried fish and great green curry.

At night, it attracts a lot of people. It's currently a very popular place.

One of the band playing. They are normally three but the guy playing the sax was absent that night.

Two of the owners of Turn on. The guy on the left is a local politician.

Friend’s bar, Nakhon Ratchasima

An oasis in the heart of Korat

Tel : 044 252166 Tel: 084 4770567

Friend’s is peacefully situated amidst greenery

An oasis is not just “a watering hotel in the desert” but also “a soothing place that gives relief” and never was the description more suitable than for this lovely bar set amidst the trees just a few steps down a quiet lane, away from the city’s best known roads.

Ducky offers the most friendly of welcomes to Friend’s

With pretty, shaded terraces in front and back and a large cheery room in the middle, Friend’s Bar offers comfort and respite for travelers day and night. Well, noon to 11.30pm.

Ducky is happy to serve drinks, in English and Thai.

The beer is cold and the menu is quintessential farang, from bacon and eggs (120B) and burgers (80B) to roast beef with all the trimmings (150B), all beautifully cooked by the English speaking Thai owner, Ducky, alongside a huge, free snooker table – if there is a bigger table in the world, it must be in Texas!

There is lots of room for groups to sit and drink

Prominently situated, next to M’s Apartments, with ample parking, Friend’s is easily accessed from either of the two small lanes running north from the west end of Suranaree Road, barely five minutes from the Old Town or from The Mall.

The irresistible rear garden

A pioneer in Korat when it opened 6 years ago by Ducky and her Canadian husband Robert (recently deceased and much missed), Friend’s is still the coolest place to relax in town.

Snooker table available.

The opening hours.
